Principal's Report

Dear Families,

NAPLAN

NAPLAN results have arrived and have been distributed to classroom teachers who have been through them and they'll be sent home tomorrow. Overall, we are very pleased with our results.

INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Families are advised that some of our teachers will be participating in protected industrial action on Thursday 23rd July. 

As a result, there will be some disruption to normal school operations. Classes will be combined where necessary, and students attending on the day will participate in a supervised program rather than the normal classroom curriculum.

If your child is able to remain at home on this day, it would be appreciated. However, supervision will be provided for students who are unable to be cared for at home.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

P & F PIE DRIVE 

Order forms have been sent home today with students; they are due back by Thursday 30th of July and delivery will be August the 6th. Order can be placed via Qkr! however we still need the order form to be returned to school to assist with collation of orders. It is a great opportunity to stock up the freezer and support our P & F fundraising initiatives. 

POETRY WRITING

One of the best things about my job is when students proudly enter my office with a piece of work, they would like to share with me. Yesterday  Sophie shared her poetry writing;

I see my teachers, teaching me lots of stuff.

I hear other classes discussing their learning.

Smelling the fresh air.

Touching the pages of books.

Tasting my food, my yummy food.

School is a happy place!

PARENT/STUDENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Parent-Teacher Interviews will be held in Week 5. Appointment times will be available to book through XUNO from next week. We encourage all families to make a booking, as this is a great opportunity to celebrate your child's growth and achievements while discussing their learning and focus areas for the remainder of the year.

NOTRE DAME COLLEGE PERFORMANCE - "THE ADDAMS FAMILY"

We were successful is gaining tickets to the dress performance of Notre Dame's upcoming drama performance. Students in Grades 3-6 will travel by bus to Westside Performing Arts Centre in Mooroopna on Wednesday 22nd July from 11:30am. There is a small cost of $7 to cover the bus. 

CURRICULUM DAY

On Monday 27th staff will be participating in another professional learning day with Danny Hyndman; the focus being spelling. There will be no students at school or OHSC on this day.
