Faith at the Heart of Our Learning

This week Nigel and I had the privilege of attending the MACS Religious Education Symposium at the Melbourne Convention Centre. The theme fothe two days was “Inspired by faith’' As we continue through the term, I am reminded of the important role that faith plays in shaping who we are as a Catholic school community. At Trinity, we seek to embed our faith throughout all aspects of school life, recognising that faith is not simply something we teach, but something we live and experience together. What a heartwarming thought!

What Lies Ahead...

There are many wonderful opportunities coming up for our community to celebrate our faith. We look forward to celebrating the First Eucharist with our students and their families, as they take this important step in their faith journey and grow in their understanding of the Eucharist as a source of nourishment, unity and connection with Jesus and one another. We will also celebrate the Feast Day of St Ignatius of Loyola, whose life and spirituality remind us of the importance of discernment, service and seeking God in all things.

As we embed our curriculum from a faith perspective, we are reminded that every learning experience provides an opportunity to nurture curiosity, wonder, compassion and a sense of service in our students. Whether in Religious Education, Mathematics, English, Science or through our relationships with others, we strive to help our students see the world through the lens of curiosity, creativity, faith and great love

The words of St Thomas Aquinas who offers us a beautiful definition of love;

“to will the good of the other.”

Sacrament of First Eucharist

Our Year 4 students will be celebrating the Sacrament of First Eucharist on Sunday  2nd August at the 9.30am Parish Mass. We look forward to sharing this jouney with you by inviting parents to a Family Night on Wednesday 29th July from 6pm to 7pm. There will be more information sent to you earlier in the term, but please mark these dates in you calender.

NAPLAN

Celebrating Our NAPLAN Results

We are delighted to celebrate the positive NAPLAN results achieved by our students. Our Year 3 cohort performed strongly across all areas, with the majority of students achieving in the Strong and Exceeding levels. Reading and Spelling were particular strengths, reflecting the strong foundations developed through our explicit teaching and phonics programs.

Our Year 5 students also achieved strong results overall, with most students performing in the Strong and Exceeding levels. Spelling continues to be a strength, while our next steps will focus on developing deeper reading comprehension, editing skills and mathematical problem-solving and reasoning.

We are incredibly proud of our students and staff. These results reflect the dedication, hard work and commitment to learning demonstrated across our school community. We will continue to use this data alongside classroom assessments to celebrate progress, identify areas for growth and provide opportunities for every student to thrive.
