Principal's News

Dear Families & Friends,

Welcome Back

It has been a great first two weeks of our second semester and all classes seem exrtremely well settled and, for the most part, glad to be back at school. It is always great to hear about holiday experiences, big and small and to see our children reconnecting with their friends. We look forward to a busy term 3 and thank all parents in advance for their support as we work together for each child in our care.

Learning conversations

By the time most people are reading this newsletter teachers will have met with families to reflect on last semester's student reports and to listen to the goals set by children for their learning in term 3. Teachers have spent time with their classes to set these goals and, more importantly, to discuss how each child will achieve these by the end of the term. I encourage all parents to take the opportunity to check with their children in regard to how they are going in working towards their goals.

Term 3 Learning Overviews

This term the Learning Overviews will be shared via Nforma in the coming days. Please take the time to look over these as they will enable parents to engage in conversations throughout the term with children about their learning.

Building Update

Quite a lot of work has now been completed in our building project with much more to come. As you may be aware the installation of a lift is part of the plan which means that we will temporarily be moving two of the Year 5/6 classes downstairs into two of the new learning spaces whilst this work is completed. It has been exciting to see the progress and we are all loking forward to the anticipated completion date of November 13th.

Trinity Concert

Last term Ms Stanton completed auditions for all the lead roles for our school concert and she has already begun working with these lucky children in preparation for our school concert to be held on Thursday 10th September. Tickets for the concert will go on sale from Monday 3rd August and will be limited so please get in early.

Trinity Athletics Carnival

Trinity Athletics Carnival is taking place at Collingwood Athletics Track on Heidelberg Rd on Thursday 30th July.  The students will all be catching buses to the event, if there are any parents who are coming and wish to come with their class please let your class teacher know as there are only a limited number of seats in the bus. If you are also able to help out on the day please let me know ASAP.

Please prepare your child for the day by wearing suitable sports clothes, preferably in their House colours, but their sports uniform is ok. Pack plenty of warm clothes in case of cold weather, layers are great so they can take them off if they get hot. And a rain jacket is always useful in Melbourne's unpredictable weather!

Make sure they have a packed lunch with healthy snacks and a full drink bottle. There will be no lunch orders that day. Below is a timetable for the day but times are approximate and we may not run exactly to plan.
