Library News

Thank you, Ironside!
Another wonderful term in our reading community! We’ve loved celebrating reading and connecting in our library space—through National Simultaneous Storytime, chess games, community puzzles, following the World Cup, sharing stories, and, of course, enjoying quiet reading time. We look forward to more reading adventures together next term.
Holiday Reading
The school holidays are a great time to slow down, relax and enjoy a good book. There are plenty of simple and fun ways to keep reading part of your daily holiday routine. Here are some ideas to inspire reading these holidays—at home, outdoors, or on the go!
Local Adventures: visit your local library or bookshop. Toowong Library has author Rory Mather visiting for story time and craft on Mon 29 Jun, 11:00am - 12:00pm!

Outdoor Reading Adventure: pack a book and a picnic and try out a beautiful Brisbane park. Roma Street Parkland, New Farm Park or perhaps Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens?
Family Reading Challenge: Read 20 minutes a day for 2 weeks. Add in an extra challenge of trying different genres!
Book-Inspired Creative Activities: Draw your favourite character, act out scenes from a book, create a new ending to a story
Road tripping travels: share an audiobook together on the journey
