Carlton Gardens Primary School Chess Update

We are excited that chess tournaments have resumed this term, and our very own CGPS Chess Team delivered an outstanding performance on 3 March, finishing 2nd overall out of 15 schools at the first qualifying Inter-school tournament of the year. With over 80 participants competing on the day, it was a strong and competitive start to the season.

Impressively, our two youngest team members played a key role in securing this result for the school:

  • Ryan (1A) – Gold Medal
  • Sai (2A) – Bronze Medal 

Additional outstanding results were achieved by brothers Aidan (3C) and Kaisar (5/6D), contributing to the team’s overall tally of:

  • 2 Gold Medals
  • 1 Bronze Medal
  • 1 “Star of the Tournament” Award for a perfect score.

 

An amazing effort by the entire CGPS Chess Team and a great way to begin the new academic year!
