Principal's Report

As we come to the close of another school year, I find myself filled with deep gratitude and reflection as I write my final newsletter message as Principal of Holy Rosary after 11 wonderful years. It has truly been a privilege and a blessing to serve this extraordinary community of families, students and staff. Holy Rosary has been more than a workplace – it has been a home, a faith community, and a place where lives are shaped with care, commitment and love.
To our Grade 6 students, I offer my heartfelt congratulations. You have grown into confident, capable and compassionate young people, ready to take the exciting next step into secondary school. We are so proud of each of you and the leadership you have shown this year. You will always hold a special place in the story of Holy Rosary, and I pray that you carry our values with you as you continue your learning journey.
To our families, thank you for your trust, partnership and unwavering support over the years. The strength of Holy Rosary has always been its community, and I am deeply grateful for the way you have walked alongside the school in faith, learning and service. Your generosity of spirit, time and care has made an enduring difference to our children.
To our dedicated staff, thank you for your professionalism, compassion and tireless commitment to the children in your care. It has been an honour to work alongside such a talented and dedicated team. Together, we have shared challenges, celebrated achievements and remained steadfast in our core business of provide a nurturing, high-quality Catholic education.
As I prepare to take on the exciting role of founding principal of a new school next year, I do so with a heart full of gratitude for what Holy Rosary has given me. I will always carry with me the memories, friendships and shared successes of this remarkable community.
May the coming Christmas season be one of peace, joy and renewal for your families, and may the new year bring hope, good health and continued blessings to all. Holy Rosary will forever hold a special place in my heart.
Grade 6 Graduation Celebrations
Last week we celebrated the graduation of our 2025 Grade 6 class, who have made a wonderful and lasting impression on our school as they move into the next phase of their educational journey. Thank you to our Grade 6 teachers, Mr Walker and Miss Spence, for organising such memorable celebrations. It was also wonderful to have so many staff members supporting both the Graduation Mass and the gathering in the Parish Centre.
Yesterday, the children enjoyed a fantastic final day together at the pool and the movies – a fitting and joyful way to conclude a very special part of their schooling. Thank you also to the many parents who sent emails and messages of appreciation following these celebrations; your positive feedback is greatly valued.
Colour Run Fun
Well done to everyone for their enthusiastic participation in our Colour Run! A huge thank you to Mr Coates, Tamara and all those who helped with set-up, pack-up and ensuring the children had a fantastic time throughout the day. Events like this don’t happen without a lot of behind-the-scenes effort, and it was greatly appreciated.
Special thanks to Miss Watts, Mr. Geary and Mr. Scott for being such great sports and volunteering to be slimed – once again putting the focus exactly where it belongs: on the children and having fun together as a community.
After 11 years at Holy Rosary, this was my very first Colour Run! I honestly thought I’d managed to get away without experiencing one… but what a way to finally join in. It was wonderful to see so much laughter, colour and community spirit on display.
With sincere thanks and every blessing,
Paul Wilkinson
