GRADE 6
Grade 6 students were introduced to the work of First Nation’s Artist Margaret Present and her printmaking skills. Through exploration and exposure to lino cuts they created their own Styrofoam relief prints. Then, using a variety of techniques, students also created some interesting A4 backgrounds to use for their relief printing paper. After they had critiqued and mastered several prints, students selected their favourite piece to present for their final assessment task. Congratulations to Maison H for the way in which he demonstrated his overlaying technique to create a well aligned and unique relief print. A special mention is also awarded to Tilly K and Mack G for the way they incorporated collage into the background of their designs and Miley E and Maddy P for the creative way they presented a well-balanced background that enhances the relief print.
