A Message from Parents & Friends

Hi everyone,
Fundraising Goal for 2025: Literacy and Learning Resources
Wow, it’s been a whirlwind few months in the fundraising space for our school and Parents & Friends are still recovering from the Fete! We’re delighted to tell you that so far in 2025 we have raised $42,510.50 so thank you to everyone for supporting our school - that’s an outstanding amount of fundraising in a short period of time. We still have so many more events for the year ahead, so please stay tuned!
Here’s a recent update from us.
Fete 2025
It may seem like a distant memory to you now, but we wanted to thank everyone for your support with the fete. From attending, buying tickets, donating and volunteering it wouldn’t have been possible without our community coming together. We know you’re all dying to know how much we made and we’re delighted to tell you we made $35,915.82. That is a phenomenal amount for our school so thank you! Next fete will be in 2028 before anyone asks - it takes that long to recover! Big thanks to the fete committee for their dedication in helping make this happen.
Hot Cross Bun Drive
Thank you to everyone who bought some sweet and sticky buns just before Easter. We made a profit of $395.00 for the school from this!
Bunnings BBQ
On Sunday 27th April, we ran a sausage sizzle down at Bunnings Altona North - it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces pop by and grab a snag (or three)! Thank you to everyone who volunteered on that day too!
We’re delighted to let you know that we made $2620.35.
Thank you to Carly Edwards for seizing this opportunity and being brave to tackle it as the Coordinator for the first time!
Democracy Sausages!
On Saturday 3rd May, many parents braved the shining sun and helped us run our BBQ at the Election polling station at school (held in our gym). It was so wonderful to feel connected to our community and to see so many AGPS members come and support us.
Big thanks to Tom Brockbank who fried bacon and egg rolls, burgers and sausages all day long and a special thank you to Hudson Reynolds (Grade 1) who stayed and helped out for the whole day!
We’re delighted to say that we raised $2782.25 at this BBQ.
Friday treats
With the warmer weather well and truly behind us we have switched to our winter schedule of treats. Friday sees us selling cinnamon doughnuts for $1. Thanks to everyone who bought an icy pole in Term 1 - we raised $797.09.
If you’re able to volunteer to help sell Friday treats, please sign up here:
Mother’s/Special Person’s Day event
Thank you to everyone who came along and celebrated this wonderful event - it was lovely to see so many special people in attendance. Also, thank you to the school choir who sang us a beautiful song.
Big congratulations to our raffle winners, which included our Jenny from the office winning third prize!
Thank you to Leanne for organising the event and the raffle, plus the dads who stepped up and gave the Mums a rest and to Nicole and the team of volunteers who organised the stall with all the gifts and treats.
We will advise what money we raised at this event in our next update.
Special Lunch - Subway
On Thursday 5th June, we’re having a Subway lunch day! Details will be sent home next week on how to order. Yey to a day of no lunchbox making!

Please make a note of this for your diary. The disco times will be similar to last year, just a little shorter.
Full details will be sent home in June, but for now we’re delighted to let you know that it’s a PJ party theme!
