Week 8
SAVE THE DATE
This week we are excited to announce our K-6 Musical, Lollies.
Our story takes place one night in a lolly shop in Term 4, week 5 on Tuesday 11 November for a matinee and Wednesday 12 November evening. When the owners have closed the door and gone home, the lollies come alive. It's just another night when suddenly a bombshell is dropped. Everyone's life is being threatened. Will they survive? How? And then someone's missing. Finding the body is not pleasant. Was it murder? How will it all end? We long for a sweet ending. Our Stage 3 students will become the main lollies while each class will be on stage to perform a song each.

Athletics
On Friday we had 11 students attend the Northwest Athletics carnival in Tamworth. I was so proud of the camamradarie and spirit our students showed on a very hot day. We had so many students achieve personal best times and distances. Oliver, Nixon and Tyler will proceed to Sydney for individual events and Brodie will join them for the Senior boys relay. The boys won by a whopping 2 seconds!
Our Zone ribbons and medals will be handed out in assembly this week.
Father's Day
Another huge thank you to our P&C for giving their time and energy to ensure our Fathers were celebrated on Sunday with the P&C Fathers Day stall. We hope all our Fathers had a wonderful day.
World Duchenne Day
On Monday we held a fundraiser for World Duchenne Day. It was wonderful to see our students supporting such a worthy cause.
Save Our Sons Duchenne Foundation is the peak body for those living with Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy (around 1,000 young people) across Australia.
Their vision is to find a cure for Duchenne and Becker muscular dystrophy whilst actively working to ensure enhanced quality of life (including quality of educational opportunities) for those young people and their families affected by this condition.
Martin's Gully raised $250.00. Well done everyone!!
You Can Do It!
This term we have been focusing on confidence and RESILIENCE.
Children learn many important life skills by observing the adults around them—especially the ability to bounce back from challenges. As parents, modelling resilience helps our children understand how to navigate difficulties, manage emotions, and develop a positive outlook.
Have you ever noticed how your child watches and mimics the way you handle setbacks? When you discuss challenges openly, show how you manage setbacks, or talk about learning from mistakes, you are sending a powerful message. Demonstrating optimism, self-care, and patience teaches children that everyone faces tough times, but it's possible to overcome them and grow stronger.
Thank you for all the ways you support your child’s learning and wellbeing every day.
Please remember to check the What's Happening in School Bytes, which is updated every Friday.
Have a wonderful week!
