Foundation - Year 2 Excursion
Last Thursday, our Foundation to Year 2 students enjoyed a wonderful excursion to the Pioneer Settlement. A highlight for many students was riding on the horse-drawn cart and trying their hand at butter churning. They were very excited to make their own butter and enjoy it spread on fresh damper!
After the Foundation and Year 1 students were collected, the Year 2 activities began. Students enjoyed spending extra time together before watching the spectacular Heartbeat of the Murray sound and light show.
We were incredibly proud of how well the Year 2 students managed their sleepover. They demonstrated independence, resilience and enthusiasm throughout the experience. It was a memorable adventure filled with plenty of fun, laughter and special moments!
R U Ok? Day
Last week, our school community came together to recognise R U OK? Day — an important reminder that a simple question can make a big difference.
R U OK? Day encourages us to check in with the people around us and ask, “Are you OK?” It’s about taking the time to notice when someone might not be themselves, starting a conversation and letting them know that they are supported and cared for.
Our students participated in activities and conversations focused on kindness, connection, looking out for others and speaking up when we need help.
We reminded our students that it’s okay to not feel okay and that they can always talk to a trusted adult at school or at home.
A simple “Are you OK?” can open the door to an important conversation.
Divisional Athletics
On Thursday 10th, 34 students travelled to Ken Harrison Oval to represent Swan Hill North Primary School at the Divisional Athletics Carnival.
It was a fantastic day of competition, with our students participating in a range of track and field events. They worked hard, encouraged one another and gave their best effort throughout the day. We were extremely proud to see our students demonstrating our school values and representing SHNPS with respect, responsibility and a positive attitude.
Our students were also commended for their excellent behaviour, sportsmanship and positive representation of our school. Their willingness to support and encourage their teammates made the day a memorable one.
A special congratulations to Jett, Tyler and Bodhi, who have qualified to progress to the Mallee Region Athletics Carnival in Bendigo in October. We wish them all the very best as they continue their athletics journey and represent SHNPS at the next level.
A huge congratulations also goes to Jett, who achieved an outstanding personal best of 132cm in the High Jump! What a fantastic achievement and a great example of the hard work and determination shown by all our students.
Well done to all 34 students who represented SHNPS. We are incredibly proud of you!
