And here we are! We are in our final term for 2026 already!! Term 4 is always one of the busier ones and this year is no different. Please ensure you keep your eye on the Compass calendar and Compass updates to stay across all happenings at Hillsmeade for the rest of the year. It is a significant term for many reasons and our year 6 students will be feeling so many varied emotions, as I am sure their families will be too! Year 6 camp kicks off a big term for our graduating students, and we look forward to creating long lasting memories with you all, as our most senior students work towards completing their primary school journey.
We also get to start welcoming our new 2027 students and families, which is an exciting time as well. Prep Transition begins next week and we can't wait to meet everyone and start preparing for a successful first year of primary school!
I recently posted the Uniform Dress Code Policy for Hillsmeade PS. We really want to focus on building a strong sense of pride and belonging at our fabulous school. We want our students to feel equal, to prevent bullying and competition and to ensure all children are dressed safely and appropriately for school activities.
We ask you to please understand and respect this policy by promoting this at home and ensuring your child/children are in the correct attire and meet the standard set out clearly in this policy. We thank you in advance for your support.
In exciting news, we now have a new uniform item available for purchase. School Council approved for a 'soft shell jacket' to be added to the uniform list. It is now available in store. I do understand that summer is around the corner, however with this Melbourne weather - you just never know!!

Have you checked Compass to view all of your child’s Ongoing Reporting tasks from throughout the year? These tasks provide valuable information about your child’s learning, progress and achievement across a range of curriculum areas. We also have more to come this term!
We encourage families to take some time to review these tasks, as together they provide a picture of your child’s learning across the year and complement the comments and progression points included in their end-of-year report.
End-of-year reports will be available to families via Compass during the final week of school. Written comments will once again be included in these Semester Two reports, following their omission from Semester One reports due to ongoing industrial action.
A reminder that the Monday of Cup Weekend classes will not be occurring. If you send your child to school, supervision will be arranged and regular class teachers will not be available.
A big thank you to all students and families for already getting your profiles created and starting your fundraising for our big event on Friday 13th November.
I ask you to continue your fundraising activities as we get closer to the event and prepare yourselves for an afternoon of fun and craziness!! Our SRC and Student Leaders have chosen to fundraise for new shelving and sports equipment for recess/lunch borrowing. All other funds raised will contribute to the ongoing facilities maintenance across the school.
We just wanted to say thank you to all families that participated in the 2026 Parent/Caregiver Survey. The information we have been able to collate will assist us to constantly improve and provide the best opportunities for your child.
