What a Term!

As we reach the end of Term 3, it is remarkable to look back at just how much has happened at Trafalgar Primary School over the past ten weeks.

Our students have certainly been busy! Our Foundation students celebrated the very special milestone of 100 Days of School, while Foundation to Year 2 students took part in swimming lessons. Our older students represented the school through Winter Sports and Bike Education. Our Year 3/4 students headed off to Mill Valley Camp, our Year 5/6 students experienced Sovereign Hill Camp, and our Year 2 students enjoyed the excitement of their sleepover at school.

We celebrated Book Week, NAIDOC Week and R U OK? Day, participated in Bullying No Way Day, supported the Fight MND fundraiser and saw students represent Trafalgar Primary School through the Lions Club Public Speaking competition. Our Year 1 students also completed the Year 1 Phonics Check, providing us with another important opportunity to celebrate their progress in learning to read.

Alongside all of these special events, the most important work has continued every day in our classrooms. Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard throughout the term, and there has been plenty of learning, growth and achievement to celebrate.

This week’s Parent-Teacher Interviews have provided a fitting way to finish the term. Thank you to the many families who took the opportunity to meet with teachers, discuss their child’s progress and strengthen the partnership between home and school. These conversations are an important part of ensuring that we continue to work together to support every child.

A term like this does not happen without an enormous amount of work behind the scenes. Thank you to our teachers and Education Support staff for the planning, organisation and care that goes into providing these opportunities. Thank you also to the parents, carers and volunteers who have supported excursions, camps, sporting events, fundraising and the many other activities that make our school such a busy place.

Most importantly, congratulations to our students. Whether it was celebrating 100 days of school, heading away to camp, getting into the pool, speaking in front of an audience, riding a bike, competing in sport, dressing up for Book Week or simply working hard in the classroom each day, there has been plenty to be proud of this term.

I hope all Trafalgar Primary School families enjoy a safe, restful and well-earned break. Take the opportunity to slow down, spend some time together and recharge ready for our final term of 2026.

Term 4 begins on Monday, 5 October.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for what will undoubtedly be another busy and exciting term at Trafalgar Primary School.

Sincerely,

Cameron Nicholls
