SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE

Peer pressure is a normal part of growing up. Friends influence how children and teenagers think, feel, and act, both offline and online. Social media and messaging apps can increase this pressure, sometimes encouraging conformity over personal values.

Watching 'Peer Pressure' from SchoolTV offers helpful insights for families and educators. By understanding how influence works, we can support young people to develop confidence, resilience, and good decision-making skills. We encourage families to watch the video and use it as a conversation starter with your children. The Peer pressure Facts sheet can also be a helpful tool to utilise.
