Principal's News

Dear Parents/Carers,
Last Thursday, I had the privilege of attending the ordination and installation of Fr Mark Freeman as the ninth Bishop of Ballarat at St Patrick’s Cathedral. It was a significant and joyful occasion for our Diocese, bringing together bishops, clergy, parish representatives, civic leaders and members of the wider community.
The celebration was led by Archbishop Peter A. Comensoli, with assisting bishops from across Australia. The Cathedral was filled with over 500 people, and many more joined via livestream from across the country.
It was a powerful reminder of the strength and unity of our Church and an important moment in the life of our Diocese. We keep Bishop Mark in our prayers as he begins his ministry and leadership in Ballarat.
Harmony Day
Unfortunately, I missed our Harmony Day celebrations on Thursday as it fell at the same time as the Bishop’s ordination. I am reliably informed that it was a fantastic day. Thank you to all staff, notably Mr Maddern, as I know he did a great deal of work to bring everything together.
Ride to School day
Thank you to everyone who supported last week’s Ride to School Day. A few extra bikes and scooters are also on the rack this week. All drivers are reminded that this is a school zone with a permanent 40km/h limit. We all know kids can be unpredictable road users and need to remain vigilant around schools in particular.
Kind regards,
Karl Dwyer
Principal
