Around the School

Student Representative Council (SRC) News

At St Mary’s, we are committed to ensuring every child feels safe, supported and heard.

Working collaboratively with our Student Representative Council (SRC), we have co-created a student-friendly version of our school’s Complaints Procedure, making the process accessible and easy for children to understand.

The resource explains how students can speak to a trusted adult, raise concerns and seek help when something doesn’t feel right.

We were proud to introduce the policy at our first assembly of the term, reinforcing our commitment to listening to student voices and ensuring every child knows that their concerns matter. By empowering our students to speak up, we continue to build a school community where everyone feels safe, respected and valued.

Library News

Hello!

It’s been a very busy couple of days in the library! Lots of read, return, repeat! Our Year 6 in Library Club have been kept busy processing returned books and getting them back on the shelves. There’s plenty to do when all those holiday reads start making their way back from our students!

Introducing a New Author!

I’ve added a new author to our library catalogue: Ben Miller!

Some of our keen readers may remember the success we’ve had with children’s books by comedian David Baddiel, which have received some fantastic reviews from our students. Well, comedian, actor and author Ben Miller is next!

His books come highly recommended and are enjoyed by children and adults alike. So, why not add a Ben Miller title to your shared reading list? I aim to please and I think these books will be a hit!

Book Club – Closing Monday!

A quick reminder that Book Club closes on Monday. Please make sure all orders are completed online before the closing date.  Order here: www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP

Many thanks for your continued support of our library.

Happy Reading! Ms Kat
