To all our new families, we extend a very warm welcome as you begin your association with our school. We hope that the years ahead are full of learning and support for your children and for yourselves!

We warmly welcome the following new staff to our school:

Ben Griffin 5-6 teacher fulltime

Isabella Rosamilia teacher in 5-6 MR (Friday)

Juliette Luther teacher in 3-4 AL (Friday)

Lucy Williams Learning Support Officer Fulltime.

In next week's newsletter the new staff will introduce themselves.

We welcome back Violetta Poulter from Parental Leave. Violetta is our speech pathologist and will work each Monday and Tuesday.

We thank you for your support today. The students from Year 1-2 had scheduled Literacy testing times whilst the Year 3-6 stayed the day to undertake testing and to get to know their classes.

Tomorrow our Year 1-2 will begin fulltime and we will welcome our Foundation Students. They will be at school until 12 noon this week. There is a parent morning tea in the performing arts area to welcome back families and to extend a welcome to new and existing  families.

School Theme for 2026

We Are One

This year, the Catholic Church commemorates the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi, a saint known for his love of peace and humility. In recognition of his enduring legacy, 2026 has been declared a Special Jubilee Year of St Francis.

At SJV, we will honour this Jubilee Year through our school theme, “We Are One.” Inspired by the spirit of St Francis, this theme calls us to recognise the dignity of every person and to live as a community grounded in respect, empathy, and care for one another.

This theme invites us to come together as a school community, united across many faiths, cultures and backgrounds, with a shared commitment to making the world a better place. While we will pray for peace beyond our school, we also aspire to live it each day — through our words, our actions and the way we treat one another.
