Principal's Update
At Dundas Public School we do our best always

It has been another busy and exciting few weeks at Dundas Public School, with so many wonderful opportunities for our students to connect, participate and shine.
Our Cross Country and K–2 Fun Run were fantastic events, filled with enthusiasm, encouragement and school spirit. It was wonderful to see students challenging themselves, cheering each other on and demonstrating great sportsmanship throughout the events.
A big congratulations to our SRC for organising the recent PJ and Movie Day. Students had a fantastic time enjoying a fun day together while supporting student voice and leadership across the school. We also recently came together for Clean Up DPS, with students taking pride in caring for our school environment and showing responsibility for our shared spaces.
We are incredibly proud of the way our school community continues to support one another. A special thank you to our families, staff, students and P&C for supporting April’s participation in the National Swimming Championships. The encouragement shown reflects the strong sense of community that makes DPS so special.
Over the past few weeks, I have also had the fortunate opportunity to spend more time out on the playground with students, hearing about their days, interests and achievements. It has been such a lovely reminder of the kind, thoughtful and respectful students we have here at Dundas Public School. Our students truly are the heart of our school, and I feel very proud to be part of such a positive and connected community. I have also quickly learnt that I may need a little more practice at Newcombe ball, with many students showing off some very impressive skills and happily defeating me on the court!
Thank you again for your continued support of our school. We look forward to another wonderful few weeks ahead at DPS.
A reminder to all families that School Bytes is our main platform for sharing important updates, School News, permission notes, event information and payment notifications.
Please ensure you are regularly checking the app and your emails, and that notifications are turned on so you don’t miss important information.
You can also find our Parent Calendar in the bottom tab of the School Bytes app, next to ‘News’, to keep up to date with upcoming school events. Families are also now able to access both past and present student reports through the ‘Resources’ tab on the app.

Our P&C is such a valued part of the Dundas Public School community, and we would love to see more families get involved! From organising fun events and supporting fundraising initiatives to helping provide extra opportunities for our students, the support of our P&C makes a real difference to our school.
Whether you can volunteer regularly or just come along to share ideas and hear what’s happening around the school, everyone is welcome. It’s also a fantastic way to connect with other families and be part of the wonderful community spirit at DPS.
Our next P&C Meeting will be held in Week 8 on Tuesday 9 June at 6:00pm. Families can join us online or in person in the staffroom. We would love to see some new faces there!
We are also very excited for our upcoming P&C Disco in Week 9 on Friday 19 June! Come along, enjoy a chat with members of our school community while your children dance the evening away and have a fantastic time with their friends. Events like these are only possible because of the support of our wonderful P&C volunteers.

At Dundas Public School, we know that every school day counts! Regular attendance plays a vital role in your child’s learning, wellbeing and social development. When students attend school every day, they have greater opportunities to build friendships, develop confidence, engage in learning and achieve success.
We absolutely love seeing our students here each day, ready to learn, grow and be part of our wonderful school community. Even missing a few days of school can make it harder for students to keep up with learning and classroom routines.
We understand that children may occasionally need to be absent due to illness or exceptional circumstances, and we appreciate families continuing to communicate absences through School Bytes. Together, by prioritising attendance, we can ensure every child has the best opportunity to thrive.
