YEAR 11-12 SCHOOLNEWS

Year 12 Bulletin

Another great start to the term for our Year 12’s, with them all hitting the ground running, ready for another busy term.

We started the term with the arrival of the Year 12 jumpers, and we have had nothing but positive comments regarding them. You will notice the first nation designs on the numbers and the side panelling. Both these designs are from our 2025 First Nations trainees Macie Hepburn and Caitlin Charles (who both graduated WHC in 2024!)

The number “2”, designed by Macie has the meaning our school community all come from diverse families, each with their own backgrounds, beliefs and dreams. Yet we all come together as one united in hope and shared success/aspirations.

The number “6”, designed by Caitlin has the meaning “Our school community leaders are strongly connected and united in learning together for future success”

Over the next couple of months, we have quite a few big and important events happening. The most important one to spring to mind in the GAT on Tuesday 16th of June.

For those new to VCE – the GAT or General Achievement Test is a two-part examination for ALL year 12 students and any year 11 student doing a unit 3/4 subject. Put simply, it is a literacy and numeracy test that all students sit to benchmark them against standard

levels (a bit like NAPLAN) and a general subject skills style test which is an important tool to help the VCAA calculate a derived score for any issues around exam times.
