To be or not to be!
The renowned Bell Shakespeare Players recently brought their exciting school tour to our Year 9 and 10 students. This performance aims to introduce students to the works of William Shakespeare in an accessible and relatable way.
Presenting selected scenes from some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays, the performance was designed to inspire a deeper appreciation of Shakespeare's timeless themes, language, and characters.
Media Art pathways
A group of Media Arts students recently visited graphic designer Adele Close at her new studio and store, Voguish Gifts and Homewares. During the visit, they discussed various aspects of graphic design, including marketing, packaging design, and homewares.
What an exciting opportunity to explore potential careers paths within the field of Media Arts!
Schools Recommendation Program success!
Recently we received the wonderful news that all of our Year 12 students who applied to the University of Tasmania’s School Recommendation Program were accepted!
The Schools Recommendation Program allows students to receive early acceptance into UTAS based on their performance throughout Years 11 and 12.
It is such a brilliant achievement of our students to see them accepted early into areas such as Education, Science, Arts, Nursing and more. Pictured below are just a few of our students who secured early acceptance.
St Cuthbert's Athletics Carnival
Recently a group of students travelled to the Domain to assist at the St Cuthbert's Catholic School Athletics Carnival. MacKillop students had a busy day cheering on the athletes
Ryka Ali Performance
Our Year 7 students enjoyed a very special performance from Ryka Ali today. Joining in as Ryka performed dances showcasing the vibrant cultures of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through dance and music.
Students and staff had the opportunity to learn some traditional First Nations dances and listen to the stories behind how several First Nations instruments were created.
Staff v Students Basketball
To top off a week of exciting sporting achievements, the fun continued with the staff v students basketball game drawing excited crowds to the gym to support their team.
Despite a solid effort from the students, the staff came away victorious with a 32-23 win. With plenty of laughs and cheering from both teams it was certainly a thrilling game!
An Introduction to Life at MacKillop!
Recently we welcomed Year 5 students from St Cuthbert's Catholic School, St Johns Catholic School, Corpus Christi Catholic School and John Paul II Catholic School. To enjoy a glimpse at what a day at MacKillop looks like.
With plenty of fun in the gym playing ball games, creating monster artwork and putting their woodwork skills to the test, it was certainly an exciting day for all.
Footy fever at MacKillop!
Teams of every colour were represented at MacKillop today as students celebrated footy colours day and enthusiastically donned their teams colours to show their support.
The annual longest kick competition added to the fun with plenty of students giving it their all and cheering each other on. A big congratulations to our longest kick winners Lucas Brady (Year 10) with 57m and Phoebe Sallese (Year 8) with 40m.
