Classroom Mastery
This week's Pupil Free Day provided the staff of St Mary's the opportunity to join with other Catholic Education Sandhurst Schools to engage in 'Classroom Mastery' professional learning.
Classroom Mastery provides leaders and teachers with the knowledge, skills and strategies they need to create classroom behaviours and school culture that foster positive learning environments for all students. Staff were instructed in the explicit teaching of expectations, routines and rules to be taught to and reinforced with students to develop safe and calm learning environments, which enable all students to achieve their best outcomes. Term Three will see the implementation of these explicit and consistent routines throughout St Mary's.
Working Bee
Thank you to all the fantastic parents, school friends, teachers and students who came together and contributed their time and effort to our working bee last Friday.
Thanks to the hard work, we made fantastic progress on the veggie garden, wicker beds, and sprucing up the school grounds.
We truly appreciate all the support in keeping St. Mary's a beautiful and welcoming place for our students.
A big thank you also to Relle Bickford from Healthy Schools Project-Loddon Shire Council for accessing the funding, support and suppliers for this wonderful project.
Pyjama Day - Caritas
It was amazing coming back to school after a pupil free day to see that the students didn't want to get out of their pyjama's! Our students loved the comfort of their pyjama's today to raise funds for Caritas, which goes towards those that are facing poverty both in Australia and overseas such as Samoa, Vietnam and Democratic Republic of Congo.
