Weekly Highlights - Term 4 Week 1

Welcome Back to Term 4 Lalor East TheirCare

Hi everyone and welcome back to our last term 4 from this school year. During our holiday break children from Lalor East and other surrounding school students were able to engage and explore what our holiday program had to offer, from being active and going to Bounce to explore nature and learn about the animals as we visited Melbourne Zoo. Children were able to engage in many meaningful excursion, incursion and set up experiences.

This term 4 week one our children from Lalor East PS showed interest in explore our broad games, from playing UNO to Spot it children were able to interact in a group setting with their peers, share knowledge, ideas and have fun.

This week our teachers Natalie donated lemons, and we made Lemonade. Children also were able to continue with our cooking classes as this week we made Birthday Cake from one of our friends to celebrate his birthday. It is also great to see children exploring Gym and outdoor spaces and explore nature.

I will finish up this recap to welcome all Lalor East students back to our TheirCare service and wish them all the very best now in term 4.

Weekly Highlights - Term 4 Week 2

Lego Competition at Lalor East PS

This week our children from Lalor East TheirCare have chosen to do a Lego competition challenge. It is amazing to see most of the children taking part of this challenge as working solitude on in a group to create different sculptures with the Lego pieces. Lego building is a great activity to enhance children concentration and attention span. Most Lego sets come with a step-by-step instruction guide. This manual helps children to see the bigger picture while gently guiding them through the building process. It is amazing to see how focused and engaged children are as they slowly construct the Lego set.

Being able to explore our spaces also this week based on children's interests were able to play outside and in our gym space. Most popular physical activity this week was Ga Ga Ball, Down Ball and Obstacle courses. It was terrific to see children exploring their world around them as they play as a team together. Children were also able to engage in art craft, painting and science experiments during the week, we also were able to celebrate one of our children birthday and together make a cake.

Reminders:

Lalor East TheirCare also follows Sun Smart and as of 1 September, we encourage children when going outside to place suncream and sunhats.

Please make sure your child have a hat in their bag for when attending our session.

If your child requires special sunscreen please let the staff know, as we only carry 50+ homebrand. 

Parents are required to get their child/ren warmer jackets as we encourage and support indoor/outdoor play.

It would be amazing to have families share any recipes with us as we are starting with our Cooking club as of next week
