PRINCIPAL UPDATE

I can not believe we are in Week 7 of Term 1 already, with Chilwell Fair less than 2 weeks away.

Bike Ed has been enjoyed by all Grade 4 students over the past few weeks, and we thank the parent volunteers for their support in the running of this program and to Jared Shaw and Josie Muir for their organisation of this program.  There is one session left before the Barwon River Ride.

31 lucky students from Grade 6 headed to the Grand Prix last Thursday to explore how STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) plays a massive part in this sport.  Jason Cole and Laura Stephenson lead the students through a variety of activities planned by the Grand Prix education team.

It was great to see the Grade 5 and 6 students enjoy their first Lightning Premiership of 2026.  Students participated in Volleyball/Volleystars, Basketball, Tennis and Cricket.  Thank you to parent volunteers and staff for organising and coordinating this event. There are more events throughout the year for these students to participate in including the Winter sports.

Well done to all students who participated in the District Swimming yesterday at Kardinia Park.  We wait to hear who progressed through to the next round. Thanks to Amy Van Braam for her organisation of this event.

All students in Grade 3 and 5 are currently undertaking NAPLAN this week.  A huge amount of organisation went into this, and I thank Sarah Jeffreys for her commitment to ensure the smooth running of this.

Please ensure you head to the Fair page for important updates in regard to this.

Have a great week all.

Kind regards,

Meg
