Murrumbeena Athletes shine at recent Beachside Division Carnival
Murrumbeena Primary School was well represented at this years Beachside Division Athletics Carnival held recently at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve with fourteen students participating.
The Beachside Division is a very competitive and high quality event. Our Beena students represented the school brilliantly with our best results for several years. Due to the fact that only the top 2 athletes proceed to the Southern Regional's our congratulations goes to Aurora F who qualified in the girls 11 year old Discus (her second year in a row having competed in the Shot Put the previous year).
We had several athletes come very close to qualifying and special note goes to our athletes competing for the first time at Divisions.
MPS results were as follows:
Aurora F - Second - Girls 11yo Discus
Kathleen R - Third - Girls 9-10 200 metres
Grace C - Third - Girls 9-10 Triple Jump, Fifth - Discus
Jack B - Third - Boys 9-10 Hurdles, Seventh 800 metres
Hunter L - Third - Boys 12-13 Long Jump
Ella G - Fourth - Girls 12-13 High Jump
Anqier W - Fourth - Girls 9-10 Hurdles
Leyla B - Sixth in both 100 and 200 sprints
Chloe D - Sixth - Girls 11 Long Jump, Seventh High Jump
Mathias B - Sixth - Boys 11 1500 metres
Alma J - Seventh - Girls Shot Put, Thirteenth 100 metres
Jessica H - Seventh - Girls 9-10, 1500 metres, Tenth 800 metres
Girls 11 - 4 x 100 Relay - Eleventh (Leyla, Alma, Sophie H, Mia Z.
Congratulations to all of our MPS Athletes who have represented the school so well both at the Bentleigh District and Beachside Division Athletics Carnivals and best of luck to Aurora.
