Principal's Message 

Dear Parents, Caregivers, and School Community,

It is hard to believe that we are almost three quarters of the way through the academic school year. It has been a particularly busy three weeks since the last M Chat. Our Faction Carnival ran smoothly, and we were fortunate to only have light rain on the day. I would like to congratulate all students for their sportsmanship and determination throughout the day. Congratulations to Jirda, who were the winning faction, and to Karda, who won the Best Sportsmanship award.

As we head into the final weeks of Term 3, I would also like to let families know that I will be taking Long Service Leave from the end of this week. During my absence, Ali Boardman will be acting as Principal. I know that Ali will continue to provide strong leadership and support to our staff, students and families while I am away. I will return to school at the beginning of Term 4 and look forward to seeing everyone then.

Planning for 2027

The administration is currently planning for the 2027 academic year. If you are considering leaving Marangaroo Primary School at the end of the year, could you please inform the administration as soon as possible. Having this information will assist us in determining classroom structures and planning staff placements for 2027.

School Board

Our School Board continues to play an important role in supporting the direction and development of Marangaroo Primary School. The Board provides an opportunity for parents, staff and community members to work alongside the principal and school leadership to consider school priorities, review progress and contribute to improving outcomes for our students.

We currently have one vacancy on our School Board, with a further vacancy becoming available at the end of the year. We would love to hear from parents or community members who are interested in becoming more involved in our school and contributing their ideas, perspectives, skills and experiences.

Being a member of the School Board is a great opportunity to connect with other members of our school community, gain a deeper understanding of the work of the school and play a part in helping shape the future of Marangaroo Primary School.

In Term Swimming Lessons

I am writing to let families know that our in-term swimming lessons are scheduled to take place during the final two weeks of Term 4, from Monday 7 December to Wednesday 16 December. Further information about the swimming lessons, including details about payment and consent, will be provided to families early in Term 4. At this stage, I expect the cost of the lessons to be approximately the same as last year, which was $64 per student.

13 October – Students return for Term 4

16 October – Community Lunch for Mentally Healthy Week. Parents and families are invited to join their children for a picnic-style lunch at school.
