Principal's Report
Dear families,
This week we have had a focus on Father’s Day. Thanks to our hard-working P&F, we had a very successful stall on Wednesday where students were able to purchase a special gift for Sunday. Many thanks to everyone involved and to our families for their generous donations, which gave students many wonderful items to choose from.
Tomorrow, we have our Father’s Day Breakfast, which we are all looking forward to. The breakfast will begin at 7:30am.
HIGH ABILITIES DAY
Last Thursday, 10 of our Grade 5/6 students attended the Academic Games at Guthrie St Primary School in Shepparton. The students participated in a range of academic activities which were designed to challenge their knowledge, teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills. They had a great day!
TOOLAMBA ATHLETICS DAY
Last Friday, we held our Toolamba Athletics Day on the Community Oval. The day was a huge success and we'd like to thank Mr Tarrant for all his organisation. We had a number of Year 12 students from GSSC attend the day. They ran events, recorded results and even played basketball with the kids at lunchtime. They were a welcome addition to our sports day and they helped our events run smoothly and efficiently.

BEES & BLOSSOMS - Environmental Excursion
On Tuesday, our Grade 5 and 6 students participated in a Bees & Blossoms workshop with River Connect and Native Bee Expert Clancy Lester. The workshop included a guided nature exploration, a pollinator talk, and hands‑on bee hotel making, at our local bushland location. It was thoroughly enjoyed by staff and students.
LIVESCHOOL
Currently we are trialling LiveSchool which is a school wide app to reward positive student behaviour and build a supportive school culture. Teachers award LiveSchool points ( our tokens) to recognise hard work and positive behaviour reflecting our school values. Not only do students receive tokens or points that go into their online piggy bank but they receive a point for their house.
Live House tallies are displayed in the CLS. At the end of a predetermined time the winning house will be able to select a reward.
Balance: The app tracks total points earned alongside a "bank account" balance showing points currently available to spend.
Spending: Students use their points to buy school-approved rewards, such as custom privileges, school store items, or special events.
Feedback: Staff can attach specific comments to points, allowing you to see exactly why your child was praised.
One the trial period is over, an invitation will be sent to families so that they can access the app and see the positive points their child/ren has attained and what they were awarded for.
STAFFING UPDATE
We are very sorry to be saying goodbye to Micaela who has resigned from Toolamba Primary School, to take up a full-time position elsewhere. We are very grateful for all she has done for our students, families and school community, and we will certainly miss her dedication, enthusiasm and support. We wish her every success in her new role.
SCHOOL COUNCIL
Our last meeting for the term will be held next Monday at 6.30pm, with Finance commencing at 6.15pm. Our Senior Education Improvement Leader will attend and take School Council through the process and timeline for advertising and appointing a principal for 2027.
ASHEfest
Next Wednesday 9th September, students from Foundation to Grade 2 will be attending ASHEFest. ASHEFest is a free event, and a sausage sizzle will be provided for lunch.
This event aims to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, promote student leadership, and strengthen positive school and community connections within a culturally safe and inclusive environment. Students will be participating in activities such as traditional games, face painting and arts and crafts activities.
TATURA ATHLETIC SPORTS
The Years 3–6 Tatura Athletics Day will be held at Howley Oval, Tatura on Thursday 10th September.
Students will depart school at 9:00am sharp by bus, with the first events commencing at 9:30am. Please ensure your child arrives at school on time.
Buses will depart Tatura at 2:20pm return to school at approximately 2:45pm.
Bus cost (TBC) by tomorrow.
Students should wear their school uniform, suitable running shoes and bring:
- A packed lunch and plenty of snacks
- A refillable water bottle
- A hat
