SPAMALOT
This year’s production of Spamalot was a great success, culminating last Friday with a sell out audience. There were 52 students in the cast and each one of them achieved their personal best, fulfilling all the individual and company goals that were set at the beginning of term. Performing on stage with microphones and lights, to a packed audience, requires a lot of confidence, teamwork and self assurance and the cast showed evidence of all these attributes in their performance.
This year a lot of the blocking and choreography was student driven, led by our Arts Captain, Isabella Pickford and assisted by the Laker Girls and our VCE Theatre students.
Apart from the students on stage, many others contributed to the show, working on props with Mr Nickl and Mr Reichman and costumes with Mrs Partridge. We also had a group of senior students helping with hair and make-up - thanks Dani, Sarah & Ella and a couple of past students helping backstage and on the door - thanks Zoee and Lily.
Producing a musical also requires intensive support from the adult team who put so much of their time into rehearsals, preparation and performance. The glamour on stage is the result of many volunteer hours off stage. Thanks to the production team for helping our students achieve their goals - Directors- Anne & Geoff De Manser, Sets- Jenni Goddard, Sound & Light - Joel Barker, Props and directorial assistance - Bec Ledgard, Costumes - Sally Partridge & Bianca Maher, Make up - Kristen Pickford.
