It’s been another busy and exciting term in STEM, and it’s been fantastic to see students embracing opportunities to challenge themselves, think creatively and put their problem-solving skills to the test!

Science Talent Search

A huge congratulations to all of our Years 3-6 students who entered this year’s Science Talent Search. The creativity, effort and quality of the entries were outstanding, and it was fantastic to see so many different interests and talents on display. Every student who entered should be incredibly proud of what they achieved. The projects have now been submitted for judging, and we look forward to the results being announced on 7 October. A big thank you to our families for supporting students with their projects.

Blockly.Comp

Our Grade 5/6 Blockly.Comp coding competition is now underway! This free online competition is a great way for students to build their coding and problem-solving skills through a series of fun weekly challenges. Students can work on the challenges at home or join our optional lunchtime coding sessions in the STEM Lab at Stem Club. If your Grade 5/6 child would still like to participate, there’s still time to register - just email lauren.brady3@education.vic.gov.au

Sphero Chariot Race

Well done to all of our Grade 3/4 students who recently took part in their Sphero Chariot Race as part of their Digital Technologies unit. Students designed, built and tested chariots to be pulled by a Sphero BOLT robot, with awards presented for both the fastest chariot and the most creative design. It was wonderful to see so much teamwork, persistence and clever engineering on display. Congratulations to all of our participants and award winners!
