Procedural Writing in Action!

Our Grade 2 students recently put their procedural-writing skills into practice by answering a very important question: How do you make Vegemite toast?

Students first took part in the process of making the toast, carefully considering the equipment and ingredients required and the correct order of each step. They then used sequencing words such as first, next, then and finally to write clear instructions that someone else could successfully follow.

This hands-on experience helped students understand that a good procedure needs to be organised, detailed and written in the correct sequence. It was wonderful to see them so engaged in their writing—and being able to enjoy the final product certainly made the lesson even more memorable!

Well done, Grade 2!
