Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

SAKG TERM 4
Our time in the kitchen and garden continues to be fun, hands-on and closely connected to the Australian Curriculum. Students of all abilities are learning by doing as they grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal and delicious food.
Our garden is flourishing with summer produce, which is growing quickly and will soon be ready to use in the kitchen. Senior students have also been busy creating informative posters about different aspects of the kitchen garden program, including caring for our chooks, managing the compost system and worm farm, and sharing practical growing tips.
Pasta making was a highlight this week and proved to be a big hit with students. It was served with a delicious roast carrot and sundried tomato sauce. Nearly all the ingredients for our colourful salad were freshly harvested from our garden, including a variety of loose-leaf lettuces, spring onions, herbs and garlic.
