Head of Primary Years' Report

Dear parents, carers and our community of Hazel Glen College,
Today was Education Support Staff Day, where we celebrated our amazing Education Support staff members. Our Education Support staff range from classroom assistants, administration team members, maintenance staff, IT team, lab techs and contribute to our College community to support everyone. We thank our Education Support staff and value their input to the College.
We hope that you had the opportunity to attend our Mother's Day Breakfast last week. Each year, this is a highlight for families who get to enjoy a breakfast together at the College in the morning.
Next week is Education Week. At Hazel Glen College, Education Week reinforces the values that set our community apart: excellence, inclusion, and a commitment to continuous improvement. By celebrating learning together, we strengthen the message that education is a shared responsibility and a powerful investment in each child’s future. Next week, we will celebrate what truly matters at Hazel Glen College, a strong learning culture, high expectations, and the belief that every child can grow and achieve.
A reminder for safety during drop off and pick up times. The roads are busy during this time and it is important that school crossings are being used. Please remind your children that if they are being dropped off, walking or riding to school, to always cross the road at the school crossing.
If your child is in either Grade 3, 4, 5 or 6 there will be information sent shortly via Compass regarding their 2026 camp. All camps will have payment plan opportunities to support with time prior to the camp for these to be finalised. Dates, locations and further information will be provided on Compass
Our Primary Years Uniform guide offers options for students to wear at school. Please note that leggings or bike shorts are not uniform items and teachers will be reminding students to be wearing the correct items as listed in the guide. We also ask that students do not attend the College with extreme hair colours. School uniform plays an important role at Hazel Glen College because it helps create a calm, safe and focused learning environment for every student. When all students wear the uniform, it builds a strong sense of belonging and shared identity, reinforcing that they are part of a community that values respect and high expectations and reduces social pressure around choices.
Tours for Prep 2027 Enrolments
We continue to be busy with tours for prospective 2027 families. We are running tours each week throughout this term. If you have friends or family wishing to book a tour please share the link with them as we’d love to welcome them to our wonderful school to see our school in action.
Remember to book a tour for our Secondary Years, if your child will be transitioning to Year 7 next year to see the opportunities and facilities that Hazel Glen College offers to students and families.
