Sydney Athletics Championships

On 23 September 2026, a team of OLF athletes travelled to the Sydney Olympic Park Athletics Centre to compete at the MacKillop Athletics Championships, accompanied by Miss Withers. Competing at this level is a significant achievement, with students qualifying through several stages of competition to earn their place at the championship.

Congratulations to all athletes who represented our school and competed against some of the strongest athletes from Catholic schools across New South Wales. We are pleased to acknowledge the outstanding results achieved throughout the day.

A special congratulations goes to Mateo P, who placed 1st in both the 800m and 1500m, and Odette S, who claimed 1st place in Shot Put. Congratulations also to the 11-13 Boys 4 x 100m Relay Team, who finished 3rd overall.

Oz Tag Interconference

Congratulations to our 22, Year 6 students who proudly represented our school at the Inter Conference Oz Tag Championships on 1 September.

Our students enjoyed an outstanding day of competition at the Interschool Shark Tag Carnival, demonstrating excellent skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the event. The girls' team finished first in their conference, while the boys' team finished equal first, with both teams earning a place in the finals.

Competing against strong opposition in the championship rounds, the boys secured an impressive third place overall, while the girls capped off a wonderful day by finishing second overall. These outstanding results saw both teams finish among the top-performing schools at the carnival.

A special congratulations to Luca P, Hunter S, Atticus I, Jenkin M, Jude G, Flynn B, JJ V, Koa W, Nate M, Braxton B, Chester B, Declan Y, Luca R, Evelyn E, Olive P, Charlotte P, Indie M, Fleur L, Marley C, Annabelle S, Annie L and Mckenna A.

Every student represented our school with pride, respect and outstanding sportsmanship, displaying determination, resilience and teamwork throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the way they represented our school community both on and off the field.

PSSA Touch Championships

Congratulations to Charlotte P (Year 6), who proudly represented Sydney East at the NSW PSSA Touch Football Championships held in Wagga Wagga from 25 to 27 August.

Charlotte enjoyed a fantastic experience competing against some of the best school-aged touch football players from across New South Wales. After a highly competitive tournament, her team finished in an impressive 5th place, narrowly missing the opportunity to progress further after a hard-fought match against the Western School Sports Association.

We congratulate Charlotte on this wonderful achievement and commend the pride and determination she displayed throughout the tournament. She represented both her region and our school with distinction, and we are incredibly proud of her efforts.

PSSA Soccer Championships

Congratulations to Steve Z (Year 6), who recently represented MacKillop at the NSW PSSA Football State Championships.

Over three days of highly competitive football, Steve was selected as part of the MacKillop team and competed against some of the best school-aged players from across New South Wales. After an opening-round loss to Sydney East, the team responded strongly with victories over Polding, North West, Western and Sydney West.

Steve made a significant contribution throughout the tournament, scoring three goals and providing two assists as MacKillop progressed through a challenging pool stage. The team narrowly missed a place in the semi-finals, finishing equal second in their pool before being separated on goal difference. They finished the carnival strongly with a victory over Riverina to secure an excellent 7th place overall out of 14 teams.

Reaching this level of competition is an exceptional achievement, and we are proud to acknowledge Steve's contribution to a strong MacKillop campaign.

Australian Interschools Snow Sports Championships

Congratulations to Dash C (Year 4) and Joe P (Year 5) on their outstanding achievements in the Snow Australia Interschools Championships, Australia's largest school snow sports competition, involving more than 7,000 students from nearly 700 schools across the country.

Both students began their snow sports journey at the Regional Championships, producing strong performances that earned them qualification to the State Championships.

Dash achieved excellent results at Regionals, placing 2nd in Giant Slalom and 4th in Snowboard Cross. He then progressed through the State Championships and qualified for the Australian Interschools Championships, where he finished an impressive 18th in Australia in his age division for Snowboard Cross.

Joe also enjoyed a successful Regional Championships, placing 24th in Skiing in a large field of competitors, while recording outstanding Snowboarding results of 4th in Snowboard Giant Slalom and 4th in Snowboard Cross (Boardercross). These performances secured his place at the State Championships, where he competed strongly in both events, finishing 47th in Snowboard Giant Slalom and 29th in Boardercross.

We congratulate Dash and Joe on their successful snow sports seasons!

Newman Dance Auditions

Our Lady of Fatima is pleased to offer students in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 (in 2027) the opportunity to audition for the Newman Dance Ensemble 2027. This Dance Ensemble is a selective program designed for students who demonstrate a high level of dance ability, performance quality and commitment.

To be eligible to audition, students must currently attend a dance school or participate in regular dance-based training. This may include dance, gymnastics, physie, acrobatics or cheerleading.

If your child is interested in auditioning, please complete the attached form Dance Expression of Interest Form.

As part of the audition process, students are required to:

Submit a dance video that is 1 - 1:30 minutes in length. This can be a video from competitions or a dance piece they have created themselves. The video should highlight their skill, performance quality, and potential.
Attend an in-person audition, where they will learn and perform a short choreographed routine.

Students who are a part of the 2026 Dance Ensemble are not required to submit a video, but they must still attend the in-person audition and fill out this form.

Please note, the Newman Dance Ensemble is an additional opportunity within the musical. Students do not need to audition for or be a member of the Dance Ensemble to be involved in the musical.

To allow students time to prepare or create their routine, video submissions are due in Week 10, Term 3.

Video Due Date: Thursday, 24th September, 2026 - Week 10, Term 3

In-person audition date: Friday, 16th October 2026 - Week 1, Term 4
