Religion

Welcome back to a brand new term as we continue to celebrate the hope and renewal of the Easter season.

I hope your break was a truly blessed one, filled with special family memories and perhaps just the right amount of chocolate eggs!

Feast of St Joseph the Worker

Please join us next Friday 1st May, for a very special Whole School Mass as we celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. We are honoured to welcome Bishop Mark to our community, who will be officially blessing our wonderful new Parish Buildings during his visit.

In honour of St Joseph’s patronage of labourers, we invite all students to come to school 'Dressed as a Worker'. Whether they arrive as a builder in high-vis, a doctor in scrubs, a chef with a whisk, or a scientist in a lab coat, we can’t wait to see their creativity! (Fr. Paddy did mention he’s still waiting to see a miniature Priest or Bishop join the ranks, so feel free to take him up on that challenge!) To keep the excitement going, we will also be heading outdoors to continue our beloved tradition: the Annual Hammer Hunt!

Stage 2 Commitment Mass

We warmly invite all families to join us for our Parish Mass on Saturday, 2nd May at 6:00pm, which will be hosted by our Stage 2 students. This is a significant milestone for our Year 4 children as they officially make their commitment to their preparations for the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

It is a beautiful opportunity for our school and parish communities to gather in prayer and show our support for these students as they take this next step in their faith journey. We look forward to seeing many of you there to share in this special evening of grace and fellowship.

Sacrament of Baptism

Each year we have various families/students who would like to be baptised into the Catholic faith. Baptism is the first sacrament that we receive as Catholics and must be received before children can receive the other sacraments.

This term during religion lessons each of the classes will be learning about the sacrament of Baptism, which makes this the perfect time for any children to be baptised. You can arrange with Father Paddy for a family baptism to be held or in the past we have also held special baptisms during school time. Families can attend as well as the child's class, making it a very special moment and a fantastic learning experience.

This term, we will be holding a special Baptism ceremony, as a school, on Friday May 22nd at 9:30am.

If this is something you or your child would be interested in or you would like more information on, please let me know as soon as possible so that arrangements can be made.

I can be contacted by email - salmonk@ww.catholic.edu.au or if you would like to contact Fr Paddy direct and organise a family baptism he can be contacted by email - junee@wagga.catholic.org.au
