Principal's Report
23rd April 2026
Dear Parents and Carers
As we return to school for Term 2, we continue our journey through the Church’s liturgical year, entering more deeply into the Easter season - a time of great joy and hope as we celebrate Christ’s Resurrection. This sacred season invites us, as a community, to recognise the presence of Christ among us and to be witnesses of His love in all that we do. May the promise of new life that Easter brings inspire us to approach the term ahead with renewed faith, purpose, and hope.
I hope all our families enjoyed a joyful and restful Easter break, with opportunities to reflect, reconnect, and celebrate with loved ones. We look forward to the many opportunities for learning, growth, and community life that lie ahead. May this term be one of renewed energy, purpose, and blessings for all our students and families.
Yesterday, we proudly opened our school to the wider community for our annual Open Day. It was wonderful to welcome both new and familiar faces, particularly those considering enrolling their children in Kindergarten next year. Events such as this require a great deal of preparation, and I sincerely thank all staff for their dedication and contribution to its success. I extend a special thank you to Mrs Hannah Baldry for sharing her perspective as a parent; her words were both affirming and reassuring to our visitors.
Our Year 6 students were exceptional ambassadors for our school. They confidently led tour groups, engaged warmly with visitors, and represented our community with pride. We received many positive comments about their welcoming nature, enthusiasm, and interpersonal skills. It was a wonderful reflection of our school values of Compassion, Respect, and Commitment, which were clearly evident throughout the day.
Our enrolments are open for 2027 online for families wishing to enrol their child for Kindergarten. Enrolments are open all year but if you are enrolling your child for Kindergarten we ask that you submit the enrolment form by Monday 11th May, 2026 so we can process the enrolments and organise interviews before confirming enrolment.
Below is a copy of the enrolment process. We only have limited places available for our Kinder 2027 class so I encourage you to have the enrolment in by 11th May.
Please do not hesitate to contact the office if you have any enrolment enquiries.

Congratulations to all our students who have made it to the Diocesan Cross Country in Griffith tomorrow. We wish them all the very best and safe travels. Thank you Mrs Salmon and Mrs Hart for supervising the students.
Starting next week, Tuesday 28th April, all students will need to wear their winter uniform. We understand that the days start cold but are still getting warmer as the day moves on. Students can remove their jumpers and sports jackets if they are too hot.
Boys must wear their full length school pants next week and are able to wear sports shorts underneath their tracksuit pants on sport days. The track suit pants can only be removed if it is too hot while playing sport. HATS ARE WORN ALL YEAR ROUND.
Please contact the school if you have any questions about the school uniform or need to purchase anything from our clothing pool.
This Saturday, St Joseph's students are invited to be part of the Junee Anzac Day March. Students are to meet teachers at the Peel street side of Memorial Park at 10.15am in their full formal winter school uniform with hats and ties. We will have some ties for those who don't have one but they will need to be returned to Mrs Scott after the march.
We ask that parents ensure their children are well hydrated before the march and that the children can access a drink bottle once the march is finished whilst we are seated at the cenotaph. Students can be collected from the grass area near the cenotaph after the march or ceremony.
Children will practise marching tomorrow at school. We look forward to having as many students as possible march on Saturday. Our school captains will lead the march and lay a wreath on behalf of our school.
It was so wonderful to have so much support from our parents at the Social and Fundraising Committee Meeting last night at the Junee Hotel. As I mentioned last night, we are so blessed to have such supportive families who want to help our school continue to flourish.
We have two main fundraisers coming up early next month. Our Mother’s Day High Tea will be on Friday 8th May. This is a lovely afternoon to celebrate our Mothers and special women in our school community. The students will be performing throughout the afternoon.
Tickets will go on sale through QKR at $10.00 a ticket and this year we are capping the event at 180 people. This will mean that only people with tickets can attend. Due to the catering demands and availability of chairs and tables, a maximum of 180 attendees is all we can have.
Mother’s Day High Tea is a Yr 1 and 2 class fundraiser and the parent contacts will be in touch with families to organise the help and food for this event.
The second fundraiser is the Deb Ball which is the day after on 9th May. This fundraiser is a Year 3/4 fundraiser and plenty of organisation is already well underway. The Parent contacts from Year 3 and 4 will be in touch with families to ask for assistance. I’d like to thank Mrs Kylee Huard for all her time and effort coordinating the Deb Ball.
To conclude, I want encourage parents to come and see or contact me if there is anything they wish to discuss. My door is always open.
Have a wonderful long weekend. Monday 27th April is a long weekend so no school on Monday!!
God Bless

Our Stage 3 students visited the residents of Junee Hospital during the week. They read to the residents and entertained them with a number of songs.
Thank you for having us Junee Hospital, see you again soon!
