Acting Principal's Report
Paul Hon
Assistant Principal - Jacob Johnson
Echuca Twin Rivers Principal, Julie Hommelhoff will continue her leave into term 2 this year. I would like to thank Ben Ridge and Jacob Johnson for their commitment and leadership of the school over the last 6 weeks. Term 1 is a particularly busy term in schools. I have been asked to support the school into term 2, I come with 40 years of experience with the Department of Education with 20 in the Principal Class, the last being at Echuca PS (208), and the last 13 years working across networks of schools in the North West of the state, in this role I have worked with Echuca Twin Rivers PS since it opened in 2018.
In my first week I have been impressed with the commitment to students by our teachers and support staff. The school is well resourced and has established great routines across the school. How lucky are we to have such a great facility in Echuca.
The school’s values of Respect, Inclusion, Resilience, Responsibility and Academic Excellence are at the forefront of teacher practice in the classroom and interactions across the school.
I look forward to seeing you around the school.
Prep 2027
On Monday 27/4 the school conducted tours and an information evening for prospective Prep students for 2027. We were pleased with the turnout and have since had our first enrolments for next year. The session included a range of activities in the Prep room, a tour of the school and an interactive information session for parents.
Thank you to our wonderful prep teacher, Bec Irving for her work in putting the evening together and our student leaders, Mackenzie, Quinn, Billy and Corn for supporting the tour and engaging with our next year’s preps.
If you have a child to enrol for next year, please contact the school to get the required forms, if you know of someone who has a prospective Prep student, please refer them to the school.
Enrolments are required by July 27th, 2026

Farewell
To the students and families of ETRPS,
With mixed emotion after 15 years with the Department of Education, I am moving on. I just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for entrusting me with your personal stories over the years. I have learnt so much from many of you, and I thank you for these enriching experiences. I have thoroughly enjoyed my role in Wellbeing, supporting our students, watching them grow and be the best version of themselves.
I wish you all well.
Thank you,
Nicole Cavallaro

Communication
As parents and carers, you will at times need to meet with classroom teachers to clarify classroom programs and sometimes discuss problems that may have arisen. The teachers and Leadership Team will endeavour to meet and discuss any range of school issues as soon as possible, however, please be aware staff meetings occur each Tuesday and Wednesday nights straight after school. There is an assumption all teachers will attend meetings on time. No teacher will dismiss your question or concerns, so calling to organise a time to meet will ensure the question or issue can be addressed with plenty of time and no interruptions. Don’t forget you can always message on ClassDojo, email or call the school on 54 107 700.
