A Thank You to Our King’s College Community
As I reflect on our 40th Anniversary Founders Day celebration, I want to take a moment to say thank you to our entire King’s College community.
We have been walking through a difficult season as a school, and I am deeply grateful for the support, encouragement, prayer and care that has surrounded our staff and families. It has meant more than I can adequately express.
Founders Day felt like a particularly special opportunity to pause, come together and celebrate who we are as a community. The feedback from families and students has been incredibly encouraging. One parent shared that her children came home saying it was “the best Founders Day ever” and, most importantly, that they noticed a lightness and joy around the school, which, as you would imagine, is a wonderful miracle.
That is something I am particularly grateful for.
The day gave us an opportunity to honour our history, celebrate those who have faithfully contributed to King’s College, worship together and, simply, enjoy being together. Seeing our students singing, laughing, participating and celebrating was a wonderful reminder of the joy that exists within our community.
I am also incredibly thankful for the many people who worked behind the scenes to make the day what it was. So many staff stepped up, filled gaps, solved problems, gave their time and energy, and contributed in ways both big and small. Days like this don't simply happen. They are the result of people working together with generosity, creativity and a genuine care for our students.
Most importantly, I am thankful that throughout the day we were reminded of who we are and whose we are. Our school has always belonged to Jesus, and that remains unchanged. The worship, prayer and joy we shared together were a beautiful expression of that.
Thank you, King’s College, for the way you have supported one another in this season. Thank you for your grace, your encouragement and your willingness to keep showing up for one another.
I am proud of our school community and deeply grateful for the way we continue to live out our values of faith, hope, unity and love.

Michael Tucker – 40th Anniversary Founder’s Day Award Recipient
As part of our 40th Anniversary Founder’s Day celebrations, it was a great privilege to recognise Michael Tucker as a recipient of a 40th Anniversary Founder’s Day Award.
Michael joined King’s College in 1997 to teach and lead Year 7. That first class stayed together all the way through to Year 12, growing alongside a school that was still finding its feet. There was no established curriculum, no single secondary school building and only minimal resources, but Michael faithfully helped build something that would go on to shape the future of King’s College.
Michael has given many years of faithful service to our school, and his commitment, generosity and willingness to serve have impacted generations of students and families. His contribution to our community is deeply valued. It was particularly special to recognise Michael alongside his wife, Lyndell, who has also previously received a Founder’s Day Award. Together, they have faithfully invested decades of their lives in King’s College and its students.
One of the most fitting tributes to their contribution has happened quite naturally. Since the basketball court structure was built, our students and staff have affectionately called it “The Tucker Dome.” It wasn't planned or officially named; the name simply grew because generations of students associated that space with Michael and Lyndell. So, as part of our 40th Anniversary celebrations, the Executive Leadership Team and Board decided it was only fitting to make official the name our community had already chosen.
The Tucker Dome was officially dedicated and named on Founder’s Day.
Michael and Lyndell, thank you for all you have given to King’s College. Your faithful service, generosity and commitment have left a lasting mark on our community, and it is a privilege to honour you in this way.
Congratulations, Michael, on being named a 40th Anniversary Founder’s Day Award recipient, and congratulations to you both on the official dedication of The Tucker Dome.
Book Week Dress Up Day
What a wonderful day we had celebrating Book Week at King’s College!
Today our school was filled with much-loved book characters, colourful costumes and plenty of creativity and fun. A highlight was our whole-school Book Week Parade, with students from Kinder through to Year 12 coming together to showcase their costumes.
This year was particularly special as our Senior School students joined the parade for the first time. It was wonderful to see our older students getting involved and celebrating alongside our younger students.
Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading, imagination and the many adventures that books can take us on. A huge thank you to our students, staff and families for getting behind the day and making it such a fun and memorable celebration.

King's College Presents: The Sound of Music - Tickets on Sale
King's College proudly presents our Senior School production of The Sound of Music!
The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision.
September 10, 11 & 12 at 7PM in the King's College Auditorium.
