This term, we are learning about who God is and how much He loves and cares for us. Students will also learn about Jesus’ time in the desert (Gospel of Mark 1:12–13) and explore how this important event connects to the season of Lent.
After His baptism, Jesus spent forty days in the desert praying and preparing for God’s work. Students will learn that in the Bible, the number forty represents a special time of preparation. Through this story, children will reflect on how Lent is also a time for us to prepare our hearts by praying, making good choices, and growing closer to God.

We will explore how God is always with us, even when we feel afraid or alone, and how prayer helps us talk to God anytime. Students will practise expressing simple prayers of thanks and asking for help, and will learn that, just as God cared for Jesus in the desert, God continues to care for each of us today.
