Clare's message

Good afternoon families,
What a great week we have had; a sign of the term and year ahead, l am hoping.
We are very pleased to welcome two new staff members to our team. Zoe Bolge is joining the Learning Support team, working on a Monday and Tuesday. She is currently studying her Bachelor of Education and working at St Luke's will give her a great opportunity to build her skillset.
Claudia Hutanu will be job-sharing with Brooke Madden in Prep this year. Claudia comes with wonderful international and interstate experience and we feel very fortunate she will be working with our team here at St Luke's. Please make sure you welcome her when you see her.
The School Advisory Council met for the first time this week. We had two new members join us: Liz Gilmour and John Pompei. Over the next few editions, we will be introducing each member. I encourage you to speak with any one of them to raise new ideas, ask questions or to ask for something to be raised at the next meeting. We are keen that consultation, communication and collaboration remain part of the culture here at St Luke's.
We will be holding our Parent Information Sessions on Wednesday 25th February from 3.30pm to 4.30 pm. Please note: Asession will last 30 minutes and the second session will start at 4 pm for families who have more than one child at school. Please make sure you join us. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a third session but a copy of the slide presentation will be sent home to families, upon request.
Please join our Prep and Year 6 families at mass tomorrow (Saturday 14th February)
at 5 pm. It's a very special opportunity to welcome in the school year, as a parish community, for our youngest and oldest learners here at St Luke's.
Hospitality will be offered afterwards... please bring a small plate to share if you are coming.
We are currently running a META campaign advertising our school and our Open Day in March. If you have local friends or family who are looking to enrol their child in Prep next year or in other year levels this year, please recommend St Luke's as a school of choice. We love being small but would like to grow a little and we are super poroud of what we offer. Our Open Week is in the first week of March but we are very happy to run personal tours. Make sure you suggest your friends or family to tour our website first: www.slblackburnsth.catholic.edu.au
Please make sure you pass on your feedback about the new style newsletter. We are trying to increase reader engagement.
I'll keep it short and sweet this newsletter... have a great weekend.
