School Review

Our school review is now complete. Following our pre-review meeting on 22nd June, the formal review took place across Monday 20th July and Tuesday 28th July.

Thank you to the students, families and staff who took part the observations, focus groups and conversations gave our reviewer and panel members  a genuine picture of KPS and what matters to our community.

The next stage is the reviewer finalising their report. From there, we'll work with the findings to confirm our priorities for the next four years and create our new School Strategic Plan, which is endorsed by School Council. We look forward to sharing the key directions with you once they're confirmed.

Important Reminder: 2027 Prep Enrolments Close Today

A reminder to all families that applications for Prep enrolment in 2027 close today, (Friday 31 July). This doesn't mean you've missed your chance, you can still enrol after this date. We ask for early applications because they genuinely help us plan classes, staffing and transition opportunities, so that every child enjoys a smooth and successful start to school.

Collecting Children During the Day

If you need to collect your child early, please notify the office in advance so we can have them ready for you. Schools are busy places, and it can take time to locate students, particularly if they are in specialist classes or other learning areas.

To minimise disruptions, please avoid collections during:

•    Play 1: 10:58 - 11:28

•    Play 2: 1:14 - 1:44

During these times, children may not hear PA announcements, and buildings are locked for safety, making it difficult to collect belongings.  Lunch Time Clubs

At KPS we are providing lots of opportunities for students beyond the classroom to explore and develop their skills and passions through our lunch time clubs below.

Industrial Action

You may have seen media reports suggesting there will be another statewide strike on Tuesday 4 August.

At this stage, no decisions have been made regarding any future industrial action. The AEU Council are meeting today and will make decisions around the next steps in this campaign.

The Australian Education Union (AEU) must provide the department 5 working days’ notice before any protected stop work action can take place. The department has not received any notification from the AEU about further stop work action at this time.

Therefore, this information is incorrect, and no industrial action will take place on Tuesday 4 August. Should any future action be announced, we will communicate directly with families as early as possible to ensure everyone has clear and accurate information.

Thank you once again for your continued support of our staff and our school community.
