P & F
2026 has been a big year of fundraising so far. We have currently raised $30,000 towards new play equipment for the kids. We couldn’t have achieved this without the efforts of our amazing school community, or without the generous support of our wider Barraba community.
Diocese Cross Country Carnival
One of our biggest fundraisers each year is hosting the canteen at the Diocese Cross Country Carnival. The day needs lots of helpers, and this year was another great success thanks to everyone’s efforts.
This year, we also ran a raffle that was drawn at the Carnival. The prizes were donated by some of our very generous local businesses.
Please thank these businesses for their support when you are in their shop next. Their generosity is greatly appreciated.
- Chainsaw donated by Hart Rural
- Weather station donated by Stock & Crop
- Cobber dog biscuits donated by Barraba Rural Traders
- Hamper donated by Barraba Caremore Pharmacy
$50 fuel voucher donated by Ampol
Thanks to the families who bought and sold tickets for the raffle. We normally make $3,500 to $4,000 from the canteen at the Diocese Carnival each year. But this year, thanks to the added income from the raffle, we made a total of $6,198.57, which is an impressive result!
Tycolah Bull sale
Each year we cater for morning tea and lunch at the Tycolah Bull sale. Thanks to the Crowley’s for having us again in 2026 - it’s always a fun day out. Thanks to a generous $300 donation by Steve and Therese Crowley, we made nearly $1,000.
Thanks to our helpers on the day and to all the talented bakers who contributed to our impressive morning tea spread. Thanks also to our President Courtney Stevenson who donated the $100 prize for the 100 Club, went on to win the prize, and donated it back again!
Lions Club donation
The Lions Club of Barraba donated $1,500 to St Joseph’s P & F to use for purchasing new play equipment. This generous donation ensures we can reach our fundraising goal sooner and is much appreciated. When you see any members of Barraba Lions Club, please thank them for their support. We are lucky to have local Lions doing so much for our Barraba community.
School athletics carnival
The P & F catered the school athletics carnival this year. Special thanks to Caitlin Griffiths and Helena Walker for helping with so much of the preparation, and to Frankie Crowley for preparing the spaghetti bolognase and donating some of the food for the day.
Upcoming
We have some fun activities planned this term, with more details to come in our next newsletter update.
If you have any ideas to raise funds for new play equipment, please let us know.
Thanks again for all your support so far this year.
