Congratulations, Lucie

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Year 4 student, Lucie, in cross country running. In July, Lucie competed at the School Sport Victoria Cross Country State Championships in Yarra Glen, where she achieved an impressive 7th place finish out of 96 runners. This remarkable result reflects her dedication and determination to her training.

Lucie also achieved 7th place, out of 35 athletes,  at the Little Athletics Victoria State Cross Country Championships. As a result of her strong performance, she has been selected to represent Victoria at the upcoming Little Athletics Australia National Cross Country Championships in Ballarat.

On behalf of Solway Primary School, we wish Lucie all the very best as she prepares to compete at the National Championships. We look forward to hearing about her continued success and cheering her on every step of the way!

Melbourne AFL Club Visit

On Tuesday, our Year 3 and 4 students were fortunate to welcome representatives from the Melbourne AFL Club for a special visit. Students enjoyed hearing about the players' journeys to the AFL, their experiences in professional football, and the history of their careers. The session provided a valuable insight into what it takes to become an elite athlete, including the dedication, perseverance, and teamwork required both on and off the field.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our students, and they thoroughly enjoyed learning from the players. We thank the Melbourne AFL Club for taking the time to visit our school and inspire our young learners!
