Welcome!
We are thrilled to welcome Holly Ruwoldt to the St Brigid’s team! Learn more about Holly below and join us in giving her a warm welcome.
"Hi everyone, my name is Holly Ruwoldt and I am super excited to join the St Brigid's Community!
My journey to teaching was quite unique! After completing school at St Brigid’s College I moved to Adelaide to study a Bachelor of Commerce. I then returned home three years later to work in the financial planning field. I enjoyed working for 12 months before my passion for helping and inspiring others drew me towards teaching. Therefore I went back to university to complete my teaching degree. Although it took me a while to find my passion, I am grateful as it has enabled me to appreciate teaching so much more!
Outside of school you will likely find me going for runs along the Wimmera River, attending the local CrossFit gym, or in the Stadium playing netball for Horsham Saints. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and my dog Bailey. I also love a good adventure and overseas trips!
This year I am teaching Year 9, 10, and 12 Math. I have taught Math and Business Management at Dimboola Memorial Secondary College for the past 8 years and look forward to inspiring students to enjoy Math just like me! I look forward to what this year has in store and can’t wait to meet everyone."
We are pleased to introduce Louise Hobbs who has recently joined the St Brigid's College team!
"Hi All! My name is Louise Hobbs, and I am so excited to be returning to St Brigid’s College Horsham as a Teacher after my time here as a student. This year I’ll be teaching VCE Biology and Business Management, alongside Year 7 Science, I’m also excited to be a Teacher Advisor.
Having grown up in the Wimmera I am passionate about providing our students with a high-quality education. I am grateful for the fantastic teachers I had when I attended St Brigid’s and hope that I can give back to our community.
In 2018 I completed my Bachelor of Science at Monash University, majoring in Pharmacology and minoring in Business Management and Immunology. Following my undergraduate degree, I completed my Masters in Secondary Education through Australian Catholic University specialising in Science, Biology and Business Management. I decided to join the Teach For Australia program so I could be part of closing the country-city educational gap. I believe every student regardless of where they live deserves access to a quality education especially in the science field.
Over the last four years I have been teaching VCE Biology, Business and Agriculture alongside Years 7-10 Science and Humanities in the Wimmera. In my spare time I enjoy travelling and spending time with my friends and family, and cat Mr Monk.
I’m looking forward to meeting you all as I re-join the St Brigid’s Community!"
