Welcome to Hurstville Public School - 150 Years Newsletter

Deputy Principal's message
There is a real sense of excitement building across our school community as we move closer to Term 3 and the Hurstville Public School’s 150 Year Community Fair.
Plans for the fair are now well underway, and it has been wonderful to see so many different parts of our celebration coming together. Our P&C Team are working hard to gather recruit volunteers to support the event. Our student art competition is rolling, ticket sales for the children’s rides have opened, market stalls are being confirmed, and our Alumni Team has begun reaching out to former students as we prepare for a special Alumni High Tea.
You may have also noticed our historic banners now displayed along Forest Road, sharing fascinating facts and photographs from Hurstville Public School’s rich history. These banners are a beautiful reminder of the generations of students, staff and families who have helped shape our school over the past 150 years.
We are also grateful for the support of Georges River Council as we continue planning our historic dig, and we are delighted to already have dignitaries RSVPing to attend our major celebration.
This milestone is about much more than one event. It is a chance to honour our past, celebrate our present and look ahead with pride to the future of our school. Thank you to everyone who is helping bring this celebration to life. It is shaping up to be a very special occasion for our students, families, staff, alumni and wider community.
We look forward to celebrating with you.
Regards,
Mr Dave Renshaw
Deputy Principal
