Health & PE News

With only four more weeks of Health and PE remaining this term, we are looking forward to finishing with an exciting dance unit and a fun end-of-term games session for each grade as a reward for their fantastic participation and learning throughout the semester. Students will also have the opportunity to reflect on their learning and growth in Health over the past term.

This week our mid to senior students enjoyed some basketball skills and game play, which will continue next week, whilst our Grade F/1 students participated in some PMP activities (Perceptual Motor Program).  All grades are continuing to enjoy and develop their skipping skills. Here are a few action shots from this week!

Cross Country

Well done to all students who qualified for, and participated in round two, the Division Cross Country Event, last Friday at Wesley Hill Recreation Reserve.  It was such a wonderful event and I enjoyed supporting our students, and the students of our district.  Thank you to families for supporting their children to participate in this event. Congratulations to Clancy and Alastair who are off to the Region Cross Country Event next Tuesday in St Arnaud.  We wish you all the very best and hope you enjoy the experience!

Cross country running is both challenging and incredibly rewarding. More than just a run, it teaches resilience, determination, the confidence to tackle difficult things and the belief that we are capable of achieving hard things. Once again, well done to all of our students who participated in the District event, the Division event and those who are progressing to the Region event.

AFLW Richmond Player Visit

Next Tuesday, 2nd June, we are excited to welcome some special visitors to St Mary’s — AFLW Richmond players! The players will lead a Q&A session before joining students for a kick-to-kick on the oval.

It is always a wonderful opportunity to have athletes visit our school. They are fantastic role models for our students, inspiring them through their passion, perseverance, and commitment to following their dreams and achieving their goals.
