ALTAR SERVERS CHRISTMAS PICNIC
Last Friday our Altar Servers enjoyed a wonderful end-of-year Christmas picnic, sharing a delicious ‘hot chip’ lunch. To make the celebration even sweeter, Fr Ronald surprised the students with a special ice-cream treat, which was very much appreciated. Some of the students also shared thoughtful words of thanks with Fr Adi.
We are very blessed to have such dedicated priests in our Church who continually offer guidance, support, and encouragement when training and modelling the correct procedures and responses for Mass. Thanks to their leadership, many of our Altar Servers are now confident, reverent, and well-versed in the roles they carry out during the liturgy.
I am incredibly proud of the students and their commitment to this important ministry, and deeply grateful to Fr Adi and Fr Ronald for their generosity, involvement, and ongoing support. Thank you Fr Adi and Fr Ronald, and God bless.
YEAR 5 CARITAS
Just Leadership day at St Mary’s Mooroopna
Tuesday, 25th November
Our Year 5 students took part in a meaningful Just Leadership Day, exploring what it means to lead with fairness, courage, and compassion. Inspired by our Jubilee theme Pilgrims of Hope, the day encouraged students to see leadership not as a position, but as a responsibility to bring hope to others.
Throughout the day, students learned that being “just” goes beyond following rules—it means standing up for what is right, including others, noticing injustice, and taking action to make positive change.
They reflected on local and global challenges and explored how small acts of kindness and awareness can help build a fairer world.
Students also considered ways we can continue working with Caritas Australia to support communities in need. They brainstormed ideas for raising funds, advocating for justice, and offering hope to those facing poverty and hardship.
Our young leaders finished the day inspired and motivated, ready to step into Year 6 with a strong sense of justice, service, and hope.
