Heidi is a Diving Superstar:

From last Friday until last Sunday, Heidi spent around 22 hours at West Wave competing in the New Zealand Diving, Skills, and Age Group Nationals. More than 100 children aged 8 to 16 were in attendance, representing seven different regional clubs from as far south as Dunedin.

The opening event on Friday was a regional teams competition, with Heidi being called in at the last minute, just as the opening ceremony was starting, to represent Diving Waitakere.

Despite having no warning or time to prepare herself, Heidi dug deep and went for it, scoring four 9s and one 8.5 out of 10—an amazing achievement.

Diving Waitakere placed 1st in New Zealand, with Diving North Harbour and Diving Otakou placing 2nd and 3rd.

In the individual skills events (11 and under—Level 2), Heidi placed 3rd on the 3m (having only learned two of the dives two weeks ago), 2nd on the 1m board, and came first in New Zealand on the 5m platform (her favourite). Overall, Heidi placed 2nd in NZ, making up a difference of 11 points on the 5m platform, finishing behind 1st place by only 1.5 points. So close and so awesome.
