Dear Families of SMOTA, 

As we come to the end of Week 8, I want to take a moment to thank our students, staff, and families for the energy and commitment you continue to bring to school life. It has been a busy term with many wonderful opportunities for learning and growth, both in and beyond the classroom. With only a couple of weeks left in the term, I encourage everyone to keep up the great effort, support one another, and finish strongly together.

Canberra Excursion

As our Stage 3 students and staff prepare for their Canberra excursion, I would like to wish them a safe and enjoyable trip. This experience is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our nation’s history and government, as well as to build memories together as a group. I remind all students of the importance of representing our school with pride by showing respect, responsibility, and kindness at all times. A reminder also that devices are not to be taken on the excursion, as we want students to be fully engaged and present throughout the week. We look forward to hearing all about their adventures when they return.

I would also like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank our parent support, Morgan Cameron and all of the staff accompanying our students. Ange Hayes, Libby Lockwood and Eleisha Outridge. 

Excursions of this nature require significant planning, preparation, and time away from their own families. Their willingness to go above and beyond their day-to-day responsibilities ensures that our students are able to experience these rich learning opportunities. We are deeply grateful for their commitment and generosity.

Long Service Leave 

I would like to inform you that I will be taking Long Service Leave from Monday 22nd September 2025 (Term 3, Week 10) and will return on Monday 27th October 2025 (Term 4, Week 3). I am grateful for your continued commitment and support during this time and know that our school will continue to thrive in my absence. Libby Lockwood will be Acting Principal throughout my 5 weeks of leave. She can be contacted via the front office or via email (lmchugh@arm.catholic.edu.au). 

Fundraising

We have now received all monies from our recent Art Auction where we raised $1645 which included additional donations from W & K Grills and S & L Newberry. Thank you to everyone for your support and your generosity!
