Ride for Lucy
Ride for Lucy: A Journey of Honour and Hope
Mr Holmes & Mr Davie embark on an epic ride to raise awareness.
In honour of Lucy McAleer, a bright and beautiful soul, her uncle Scott Holmes and his friend Rhys Davie are embarking on a personal mission to raise awareness and funds for DIPG research. At just 8 years old, Lucy was diagnosed with DIPG, a devastating brain tumour. After a brave 8-month battle, she passed away on March 12, 2022. Lucy is deeply missed by her parents, Brian and Nicole, her sisters Olivia and Amelia, and everyone whose lives she touched. On Saturday, January 4th, 2025, Scott and Rhys will begin a journey from Melbourne to Glenelg, SA, covering over 1000km. They will complete the ride on Monday, January 12th, 2025, raising much-needed funds for research into this rare and aggressive childhood cancer.
Support the cause: DIPG has no effective treatments or cure, and with a life expectancy of just 9-11 months post-diagnosis, it's critical to fund research that could change that.
Donate: Head directly to RUN DIPG https://rundipg-org.grassrootz.com/ride-for-lucy and help us reach our goal of $10,000
Sponsor: Individuals, businesses and organisations are invited to sponsor this meaningful ride, with various opportunities to get involved. Message us to find out how you can help this ride be the success it needs to be.
Let’s move towards a cure and make a difference in Lucy’s memory.
