Learning in the Foundation Classroom

Under the Transdisciplinary Theme ‘Who We Are’, we have been discovering just how important rules and routines are. We kicked off our Unit of Inquiry by playing a game with no rules. This sparked a conversation about how rules help keep things safe, fair and fun.
We got to bring a favourite game from home, teach a classmate how to play and practised following the rules. It was wonderful to see learning and fun all come together.
Foundation students have been diligently learning and following our many school routines. These include:
- Morning Routine
- Ready to Learn Routine
- Eating Routine
- Moving Around the School Routine
- Whiteboard Routine
- Turn and Talk Routine
- End of the Day Routine
Routines help us know what to do and keep our classroom safe, calm and orderly.
