News from Bexley our school Well-Being Dog

Everyone helps Bexley Feel Happy and Healthy at St Mary’s 🐾
As part of our Dogs Connect program, students are learning about Bexley and his important role in supporting wellbeing at school. They are exploring how Bexley is different from a pet and how to interact with him in safe and respectful ways.
Students are learning the importance of staying calm, giving Bexley space, asking a staff member before approaching, and recognising when it is the right time to interact.
You may like to share the slides above and ask your child one of the following questions:
- How is Bexley different from a pet?
- How can you help Bexley feel safe and calm?
- What do you do before interacting with him?
- When is a good time to interact with Bexley?
