Play is Essential...

Play is essential for brain development, physical and emotional wellbeing, learning and social skills building and is necessary for all age groups – from babies to teens and beyond.

Busy schedules, bad weather and cost of living pressures can make it feel hard to fit play into every day, but play doesn’t require set times or fancy toys and can be completed in all different environments and activities.

By adding play elements to everyday tasks, such as treating activities like a game, pretending to be different characters or adding song, dance and movement, simple things like brushing teeth, getting ready for school or walking home from sport can transform into playful experiences.

This International Day of Play was in June, swipe through to see ways our community incorporates play into their family schedule.
